Enlightened Ways Therapy offers individual mental health therapy to adolescents and adults. We provide evidence-based treatment to help you alongside your journey to recovery. Amberly Mixon, LCSW, started Enlightened Ways Therapy in 2022. Amberly received her B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in Social Work and Psychology. Amberly continued her education and received her M.S.W from University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Previously, Amberly worked for Rogers Behavioral Health for 5 years as the therapist for the residential adolescent eating disorder program. She also worked for an outpatient practice for 3 years providing school-based mental health therapy. Amberly has experience working with children, adolescents and their families. She specializes in trauma, eating disorders, OCD, anxiety, and depression. She has been trained in CBT, including exposure and response therapy (ERP), behavioral activation, and prolonged exposure (PE). She also is trained in DBT and IFS. Amberly completed the youth-oriented substance abuse and trauma counseling program at UW-Milwaukee and is SBIRT certified. Faith Mattison, LCSW, joined Enlightened Ways Therapy in January of 2023. She graduated from UW-Madison with her Masters degree in Social Work. Faith has worked in the community for the last 30 years. Faith worked at the county in juvenile probation and in home family treatment. She also worked as a school social worker in the Beloit School District for 12 years. Faith worked part time through her early years as an outpatient therapist and started working full time as an outpatient therapist in 2015. During those times, she has experience working with ages 4+ and treating ADHD, mood disorders, trauma, depression, anxiety, and many more. Faith has specialized training in autism, play therapy, DBT, CBT and trauma. Kayla Kind, LPC, joined Enlightened Ways Therapy in February of 2023 as a full-time therapist. Kayla received her B.S. from University of Dubuque in Psychology and her M.S. from Marquette University in Clinical Mental Health Counseling. She has worked at Rogers Behavioral Health in Oconomowoc for 4 years where she utilized a trauma-informed approach to guide her work with children, adolescents, and their families. Kayla also worked in an outpatient practice providing school-based mental health therapy in multiple different school districts. Kayla has experience working with obsessive-compulsive disorder and trauma and specializes in anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and eating disorders. She has been trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, including exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP) and prolonged exposure, behavioral activation, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy. Laura Piscoitti, APSW, joined Enlightened Ways Therapy in May 2023. Laura received her B.A. from Columbia College and her Masters degree in Social Work from University of Oklahoma. Laura previously provided in home therapy for Professional Services Group, who contracted with CCS. Laura works with children, adolescents, and families. She has experience working with trauma, anxiety, panic disorders, depression, and substance use. Laura utilizes a client-centered approach and believes in meeting people where they are at in their journey. She has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Play Therapy. Kiersten Wenthold, LPC, joined Enlightened Ways Therapy in May of 2023. She practices virtually and is licensed to see clients in Wisconsin and Florida. Kiersten completed her Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Marquette University with a specialization in substance use treatment. Kiersten specializes in trauma recovery treatment. She prioritizes a collaborative and individualized approach in the healing process to sync with each person's unique needs in their healing journey. Kiersten is passionate about helping clients recognize, feel, and utilize the immense wisdom of our physical bodies, while also working through stored trauma and stress. In this holistic approach, she recognizes that healing takes place in the body, mind, and spirit, and she practices through the lens of cultural humility as she continues to work on decolonizing herself and the therapeutic process. She utilizes Schema Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Somatic Therapy, and Psychodynamic interventions.
